Data for Children Collaborative Publishes New Report Identifying the Digital Mental Health Footprint of Adolescents in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
Data for Children Collaborative has published a new report as part of a transdisciplinary project between researchers, Dr Rowena Piers and Dr Simona Di Folco, from the University of Edinburgh’s School for Health and Social Science, the School of Informatics, and UNICEF.
The new report summarises the Digital Ecosystem Analysis that was carried out by the researchers to identify e-health services aimed at supporting young people’s mental health in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. This comprises part of their wider project to develop a methodology for using AI to identify social media discussions on mental health and well-being from young people.
Building on previous work carried out by the Data for Children Collaborative and UNICEF in Ukraine, this part of the project has sought to identify the mental health and well-being digital footprint of adolescents in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan through a comprehensive Digital Ecosystem Analysis. This initiative maps available digital resources to support adolescents, providing culturally sensitive and accessible mental health services. By leveraging the Digital Ecosystem Framework, the project informs local agencies and UNICEF Country Offices, encouraging sustainable mental health solutions for young people in both countries.
